Review of a wide range of personal tax returns and simple corporate tax returns
Manage tax activities in connection with non-tax (i.e., accounting/audit) files
Work with Tax Partners and other senior tax staff to:
develop and implement tax planning services including research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda, and
perform special tax engagements
Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints
Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships within core hours of 9:30 to 4 and identify client service opportunities
Requirements :
Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE), at a minimum holding a status of CPA-in-waiting
Intention to enroll and complete the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course
3 – 5 years of accounting experience, tax experience considered an asset
High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines. Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
