Oversee and monitor the quality of bookkeeping engagements and resolve any issues in technology or team member performance
Supervise and perform the set-up of client files, completion of budgets and administrative planning
Supervise the reconciliation of GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, payroll, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with engagement partners to develop resolutions
Support the assessment and onboarding of new team members with new clients, as required
Develop and maintain high proficiency with accounting software and provide support to clients and team members
Supervise and assess workload of a team of cloud accounting bookkeepers ensuring that all procedures are carried out in an efficient and effective manner
Develop and train team members towards professional and personal development
Recommend, implement and identify new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Assist with engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Requirements :
Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset
5 years of accounting and bookkeeping related experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
Experience working with cloud accounting software such as QBO or Xero is preferred
Proven relationship building and leadership skills
