Review of a wide range of personal tax, review and compilation engagements and ensure all tax related matters have been adequately addressed prior to filing
Provide daily guidance/support, coaching and development of firm staff with respect to tax knowledge and matters
Research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda
Participate in special tax engagements
Provide client tax planning services
Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships within core hours of 9:30 to 4:00 and identify client service opportunities
Requirements :
Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE)
Successful completion of/or in the process of completing the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course
5+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty
Robust technical knowledge of Canadian tax related issues and of GAAP requirements for tax provisions
High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and demonstrated ability to work with other’s effectively as part of a team
Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines. Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
Experience working with owner managed businesses considered an asset
