Perform deep technical investigations, leveraging rich telemetry streams to isolate and solve complex performance issues for MSRC services.
Take ownership to resolve service issues in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs), balancing speed and quality.
Responsible for platform services built on Azure and similar services to enable MSRC to collect data at scale, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of data with data pipelines.
Drive the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms for upgrades and enhancements.
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following playbooks, working on-call to monitor systems/products/services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status, and initiating actions to restore systems/products/services for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Independently implement high-performance solutions across teams while maintaining a quality checklist. Create and monitor telemetry data and influence analytics to better identify patterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems.
Respond to incidents and complex issues by identifying and troubleshooting the issue, deploying appropriate fixes, and implementing automations to prevent recurring issues. Follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field AND 10+ years technical experience in service engineering, or systems engineering or System Administrator.
7+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of system design & architecture, and running of complex, large scale online services.
5+ years of scripting and programming experience, including any of the following: NET, PowerShell, Python, C#.
5+ years’ experience for DevOps and SRE services lifecycle.
5+ years of experience in data management, including Kusto or similar stack, with data pipelines and messaging bus management.
Ability to work as part an On-Call rotation is a must.
