Description : The Traffic Analyst works in a fast-paced team environment, reviewing temporary traffic control plan submittals for permitted activities taking place in ACHDs public rights-of-way for compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and District policies and requirements.
The Traffic Analyst conducts reviews of temporary traffic control plan submittals and provides oral and written communication to interested parties of the temporary highway use applications, including the applicant, contractor, traffic control company, and other District employees.
Duties may also include field visits to verify existing roadway conditions.
Requirements : This position requires the ability to read design and temporary traffic control plans. A good knowledge of the MUTCD is a must. Some knowledge of the ADA and ACHD policies is desirable, but not required.
The successful candidate must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and have a working knowledge of GIS and PDF editing programs. Some knowledge of engineering and construction practices and techniques is desirable, but not required.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required, coupled with the ability to work as a liaison between the Accessibility Compliance staff, other District departments, and with the public.
This position requires the successful completion of ATSSA Flagger, Traffic Control Technician (TCT) and Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) training courses within one year of hire. Requires a valid Idaho Driver’s License and the ability to operate ACHD vehicles in the completion of duties.
