Prepares cost estimates and laying out jobs. Completes work orders as needed. Orders supplies and materials required for jobs. Assigns and inspects progress, cleanliness and completion of jobs and projects of the shop.
Responsible for operation, proper adjustment, and general maintenance of all power equipment and tools in the Carpenter Shop. Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and for enforcing general safety regulations in the shop and at the job site.
Works from blueprints, sketches, and work orders on various types of construction.
Supervises a crew of journey-level carpenters and other semi-skilled personnel. Plans and directs the work of the Carpenter Shop. Determine and coordinate staffing, material and equipment needs for multiple jobs and projects; and ensure accuracy and maintenance of work orders in PlanOn.
Requirements :
Equivalent to a high school diploma and two or more years of experience as a journey-level carpenter, including one to two years in a lead/supervisory capacity required.
