Locates books, periodicals, pamphlets, and other library materials for patrons; instructing patrons individually or in classes in the use of library resources; assisting patrons with digital resources; researching and answering a wide variety of difficult reference questions; making recommendations concerning the work of the assigned division; reads book reviews and recommends the purchase of new books and other library materials; reviews status and condition of books within designated areas of the collection and recommends discarding, mending or retention; may supervise subordinate personnel in the main library, branch libraries; inventories collections; acts as a person in charge as needed; writes book reviews and articles; prepares subject bibliographies and promotional materials; performs other related duties as required.
