Collaborate, consult, and assist instructors with their digital learning design needs, including integrating online modules in face-to-face courses, creating blended or fully online courses, designing online programs, and solving other technical or design challenges for education. Work with instructors or other CSUCI subject matter experts to draft and edit learning content and activities, including module elements, learning assessments, assignment instructions and rubrics, discussion prompts, and help guides for using academic technologies in the course. In collaboration with Teaching and Learning Innovations team, build out organized and user-friendly learning experiences using CSUCI's learning management system (i.e., Canvas) and academic technologies (e.g., PlayPosit, VoiceThread). At the direction of learning design and digital learning team leadership, create and facilitate trainings, workshops, templates, and design guides that help faculty develop skills in accessible, inclusive, and equity-minded online course design and instruction. Along with Teaching & Learning Innovations team, pilot emerging technologies focused on optimizing the online learning experience.
Bachelor's degree in any academic discipline required. Advanced degree in Education or related field highly desirable. Must have a growing vision of the role of information technology services in higher education. Evidence of the ability to envision innovative programs and products, and experience implementing these programs and products on a university campus is highly desirable. Expertise and experience in online and blended learning required. Knowledge about optimizing online learning desirable. Knowledge of a wide range of educational technologies is required. Must possess an understanding of Learning Management Systems. Recent experience in educational technology and blended or online teaching experience within the past three years is also required. Knowledge of WordPress, VoiceThread, and Canvas a plus.
