Working on simple road and drainage projects autonomously, as well as with your supervisor, other staff, consultants, and/or contractors.
Planning, designing, and/or reviewing improvement plans, studies, calculations, specifications, estimates, comments letters, permit conditions, grant applications, and Board of Supervisor documents, etc.
Coordinating projects with other Public Works Divisions such as Environmental, Real Estate, and Finance Divisions on environmental permits, right of way acquisitions, and account issues, respectively; coordinating with other departments such as the Department of Conservation and Development and Caltrans on the development process and permitting requirements; coordinating with consultants and contractors.
Responding to inquiries and complaints from political constituents, department staff, outside agencies, and applicants/permittees; investigating and responding to public inquiries and complaints related to road and drainage infrastructure.
Requirements :
License Required : Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.
Education: Either (1) possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering or (2) possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
