• Sweep, mop, wax, buff and scrub floors; vacuum and clean carpets; clean restrooms; empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture and woodwork; wash windows, walls, and blinds; polish metal work.
• Clean and dust books and shelves; move and arrange furniture and equipment.
• Perform minor building maintenance or repairs of custodial related equipment.
• Inspect buildings for safety, fire and sanitary hazards.
• Operate a variety of electrical cleaning equipment; maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
• Unlock and lock entrances to buildings; check buildings for security.
• May train and lead assigned custodial staff.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other County employees and the public using principles of good customer services.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Experience and Training Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Some general labor experience is desirable.
Training: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
Required License or Certificate:
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required depending on the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
