We seek an outstanding scholar and committed teacher who will establish an innovative research and teaching program in Economic Geology, complementing existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate examines geological processes that generate mineral resources, and explores their magmatic, metamorphic, fluid-related, and/or structural controls. Applicants who explore mineral and metal extraction from secondary sources and apply traditional and novel methods (e.g., remote sensing) in search of critical minerals are encouraged to apply. We expect candidates to show evidence of an existing or developing active, externally-funded, student-centered research program, and the ability and enthusiasm to teach introductory-level courses and upper-division/graduate courses to students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
