Teach foundational and core CD courses as well as upper division courses in the Visual Design concentration.
Develop curriculum and support material for CD courses as needed
Play an instrumental role as part of the CD program team to develop and implement the program vision, projects, and initiatives that support broadening participation in computing and design
Develop collaborative relationships and execute projects with educators in institutions in the CD pipeline, including feeder community colleges, high/middle schools, educational offices in the Monterey region and industry partners
Collaborate in the design, development and delivery of other Communication Design courses
Develop and/or implement research and creative activities (grant-funded where feasible) that contribute to the dynamic learning environment and provide our diverse students with opportunities for undergraduate research
Additional responsibilities include guiding student capstone learning experiences, exploring innovative pedagogical approaches and participating in the development of grants
Requirements :
Earned terminal degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Media, UI/UX, or closely related field (MFA or PhD)
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, inclusive excellence, and improving learning outcomes
Fluency in using the industry standard graphic design software applications, and
Willingness to stay current and to explore new and emerging technologies
