Teaching four Spanish courses per semester (literature, composition and lower division), student advising, service on departmental, school, or university committees. Additional responsibilities include professional work consistent with the mission of the College of Arts and Humanities. Active scholarly publication, service to the university, and excellence in teaching are expected, and are requirements for tenure and promotion.

• Applicants must have experience in working with students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
• An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Spanish with an emphasis in Latin American Literature.
• Experience in teaching Latin American literature and composition.
• Native or near native competency in Spanish.
