The position requires undergraduate teaching in core criminal justice courses (critical thinking, information literacy, research methods), mentoring and advising undergraduate students, developing an active ongoing scholarship program focused on social justice and equity in one's area of specialty, and ongoing committee and service assignments.
• Ph.D. in related program or JD. Terminal degree must be completed by the first day of employment. As an interdisciplinary department, we welcome candidates with a variety of disciplinary backgrounds in legal studies, social sciences and humanities, including law, Ethnic Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Geography, American Studies, Political Science, History, Social Work, Critical Carceral Studies or Public Health.
• Record of working and communicating effectively with colleagues and students
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching, and/or scholarship/creative works
• Experience teaching and working closely with students from historically underrepresented communities
