Assists patrons in the use of library facilities; explains library policies and procedures to the public, and library staff.
Performs reference work at a professional level, according to Level of incumbent.
Selects, orders, maintains, and weeds collections in assigned subject areas.
Presents programming, story times, tours, and outreach events.
May supervise, review work, and evaluate clerical and/or paraprofessional employees.
Selects, arranges, and promotes the library through outreach activities.
Keeps current with materials acquired by library; prepares statistics, reports, and programs.
Designs, coordinates and implements library programs for special events.
Index and catalog material.
Provide readers advisory.
Answer customer inquiries.
Requirements :
Librarian I
Possession a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an American Library Association accredited library school, preferably with some additional study in library, business and/or public administration.
Librarian II
Experience:
One (1) year of experience equivalent to a Librarian I in Merced County.
Education:
Possession a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an American Library Association accredited library school, preferably with some additional study in library, business and/or public administration.
