Involved as technical lead in all facets of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software development and spatial data analysis in support of SPU customers.
Design, develop, architect, configure, deploy, test, maintain, support, and document desktop, server, and console applications.
Perform GIS data modeling and backend architecture for a variety of complex GIS projects.
Provide advanced support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing applications, scripts, and tools.
Perform business analysis and requirements gathering to ensure business needs are addressed.
Develop requirements, data models, design documents, program specifications, and implementation plans.
Create system integration and user acceptance test plans and scripts; work with users to complete all testing phases.
Deploy tech products while coordinating with multiple IT teams (i.e., database administrators, server administrators, production support, change management, etc.).
Write technical documents for software projects, including user guides, training documents, installation guides, and other support documentation.
Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, project managers, subject matter experts, and other GIS colleagues throughout the project delivery process.
Represent SPU as a technical lead and subject matter expert; collaborate with SPU leadership and Seattle IT to develop a geospatial strategy.
Requirements :
Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience developing software and deploying GIS applications, ESRI software suite, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Oracle, Python, Microsoft SQL, or comparable system (or another related field).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Geography (GIS), Computer Science, or another related field (or a combination or education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to complete the work of the class).
