Installs, maintains, tests and performs minor repairs on two-way radio equipment and laptop computers.
Provides essential support in the area of software maintenance, badging, scheduling of reservations, access control management for employees or contractors and other assigned tasks as directed.
Installs, repairs and maintains two-way radio equipment, i.e. connect wires, mount units and antennas.
Participates in the preparation of specifications and makes recommendations on the purchase of communications equipment; maintains contact with vendors to obtain information on product changes and new products and tests new products and equipment.
Works with contracted technicians and regional partners to ensure all facets of the trunked radio system are in proper working order.
Maintains the Police Department wireless communication equipment inventory on all assigned assets.
Schedules and performs preventive maintenance on the Police department's portable and mobile radios.
Requirements :
Education and Experience
A High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
Three years' experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of electronic, radio and digital communications equipment.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
