Teaching General Education and pre-professional courses in which students gain field experience, learn theories of education, and are exposed to various narratives and histories of education, including education and inequality in the US, as well as other courses in the Humanities Department
Pursuing an active research career in one's area(s) of specialization
Advising students in the Liberal Studies Teacher Preparation BA Programs
Collaborating with the Multiple Subject Credential and Special Education Credential programs in the College of Education
The candidate will participate in shared governance, usually in department, college, and university committees and other service assignments.
The candidate must demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation - through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Requirements :
Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Education with a specialization in Social Cultural Foundations of Education
Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
Applicants should have a promising research agenda that will lead to publication within their field
