Under general supervision, the Carpenter performs skilled journey level carpentry work in the maintenance and renovation of buildings and structures. The incumbent erects, maintains and repairs various types of buildings and other structures and works on project work in coordination with other trades
• Erects steel and wood wall/ceiling framing; installs and repairs dry wall, ceiling tiles, and roofs; and builds and repairs pedestrian ramps and culverts.
• Makes cabinets, lockers, shelves, doors and window frames; and maintains tools and equipment in good condition.
• Reads rough sketches and consults with the Lead Carpenter on estimates of the cost of new structures and repair work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through the completion of a carpenter's apprenticeship program.
• LICENSE: CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE
