Understand people’s needs through user research, usability testing, and discovery workshops. Responsibly and effectively advocate for our end users, members of the public, all to ensure that the final solution is impactful.
Analyze and make recommendations for improving current digital experiences within an omnichannel ecosystem.
Quickly and thoroughly create user flows/journey maps, wireframes, and design prototypes to effectively conceptualize foundational digital experiences.
Simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and effective information architecture and interactions.
Document detailed interaction behaviors, recommend and maintain current specifications and design patterns within our Digital Style Guide.
Champion best practices in user experience, including information architecture, content design, and taxonomy.
Coordinate design reviews and approvals as needed.
Use data and research to justify your design decisions.
Participate in weekly UX team meetings to review and share work for feedback.
Advocate for inclusive design, including, but not limited to, accessibility, language translation, digital equity, and privacy.
Perform other duties as assigned commensurate to the IT Professional level.
Requirements :
Education equivalent to a BA Degree or certification in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, or similar. NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in place of a degree.
Minimum two years of professional experience.
Experience with design thinking, user research, and usability testing methods.
Experience in the wireframing, prototyping, and web presentation of digital content.
Experience in creating information architecture and utilizing taxonomy.
Experience in content strategy, including plain language writing, findability, and visual communication.
Experience utilizing web analytics and key metrics for content quality, accessibility, and visitor behavior.
Experience designing for WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 compliance.
Experience with web content management systems and publication workflows.
Familiarity with agile software development practices.
Familiarity with web privacy and security principles.
