• Inspects, isolates, troubleshoots and repairs electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.
• Maintains, repairs and replaces lighting fixtures, equipment and systems.
• Maintains and repairs low voltage systems including fire, alarm and access systems.
• Maintains, inspects and repairs high voltage (12 KV) distribution systems
• Operates electrical power-generating plants and other electrical equipment and systems.
• Tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.

Planning and Inspection

• Plans the layout and wiring of new or remodeled installations.
• Advises in the selection and installation of electrical equipment.
• Estimates cost, time and materials for electrical projects.
• Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
• Inspects related work performed by contractors.

Maintenance and Recordkeeping

• Participates in the housekeeping, maintenance and operations of an electrical shop.
• Maintain records and retrieve data related to work performed using manual and /or computerized record keeping systems.
• Prepare standard reports and consult and work with other trades workers.

Electrician must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English and perform mathematical computations Must have completed a 4-year Electrician apprentices hip program that in certified by State of California Department of Apprenticeship Standard, or equivalent 4-year training certification.
Experience

1. Must have completed a 4 years Electrician apprenticeship program that is certified by State of California or equivalent.
2. Must have minimum of 5 years' experience as a construction or maintenance electrician.
