• Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Studying specification in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
• Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
• Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws -
• Installing structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools. Inspecting ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Maintaining emails, records, document actions, and presenting written progress reports
• Anchoring and bracing forms and other structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and -timbers. -
• Creating and submitting project estimates
• Completing work requests thoroughly and professionally, includes project notes and labor charges on all work requests; responding to work requests in a timely and efficient manner

License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.

Applicants must be able to obtain the Detention Facility Clearance to work in the detention facilities.

Experience: Either 1) completion of a four (4) year Carpenter Apprenticeship and one (1) year of full time, or its equivalent, experience performing rough and finished carpentry work at the journey level; OR 2) five (5) years of full time, or its equivalent, experience performing rough and finished carpentry work and one (1) year of carpentry work at the journey level.
