Description : â— Cleans and prepares surfaces to be painted by use of sandpaper, steel wool, scrapers, or soap and water; sandblasts surfaces preparatory to painting.
â— Paints exterior and interior walls and ceilings of City buildings with brush or spray gun as required; may varnish, stain, shellac, or otherwise finish desks, doors, cabinets, moldings, and floors.
â— Mixes paints, varnishes, shellacs, and enamels; cleans and stores brushes.
â— Performs incidental duties such as erecting and moving scaffolds, washing walls and cleaning up after a job; operates a pick-up truck.
â— Performs related work as required.
Requirements : â— Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as a journey-level painter or completion of an apprenticeship in this trade.
