Provides support to the Distribution Design group to facilitate the installation of electric distribution infrastructure.
Provide engineering calculations using defined procedures.
Review vendor approval drawings for correctness and compliance with specifications.
Incorporate vendor information into design document and integrate into City drawings, shop drawings, schematics, panels to interconnection drawings, etc.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out engineering related tasks.
Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Assists coworkers with investigations to address customer problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Education and/or formal training:
Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent required.
Experience:
Electrical Engineer I is an entry level position.
Electrical Engineer II: Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in medium or high voltage power systems demonstrating progressively more responsibility in assignments. Prior utility experience or familiarity with utility infrastructure preferred.
Licensure and/or certifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license. Engineer in Training designation preferred.
