Performs preventative maintenance repairs and/or replaces transformers, motors, appliances, automatic switches, circuit breakers, buzzers, bells, and closed TV circuits
Functions as a journeyman electrician in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical services, lines, and equipment
Conducts on-the-job training programs designed to increase the proficiency and effectiveness of employees
Inspects work for conformance to standard trade practices
Estimates cost on individual jobs
Secures necessary supplies and materials as required
Maintains records of material and labor expended on jobs for cost accounting purposes
Installs conduit for telephone, computer, and communications equipment.
Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, hand tools, etc.
Works closely with other departments and administration
Performs work as scheduled and in a timely manner
Tracks and recommends needed materials, supplies, and parts
Requirements :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Licensed Journeyman Electrician with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or other state and two years of job relevant experience or six years of job relevant experience, and training.
