To use Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology to perform conceptual design layouts and to prepare and maintain construction plans and engineering-related drawings, 3D/BIM models, and sketches in the discipline of electrical and instrumentation design.

Candidates must possess:

• A valid California Class C driver license.

-AND-
DESIGNER I:

• One (1) year of experience performing CAD and/or GIS related work -OR- completion of two related courses (at least 6 semester units) from an accredited college or university in Engineering Design Drafting or GIS.

DESIGNER II:

• Three (3) years of experience performing duties equivalent to a Designer I. Completion of related courses from an accredited college or university in Engineering Design Drafting or GIS may be substituted for up to 1.5 years of the required experience where 12 semester units is equivalent to one (1) year of experience and a maximum of 18 semester units is equivalent to one and a half (1.5) years of experience.

DESIGNER III:

• Two (2) years of Districts experience performing the duties of a Designer II -OR- Five (5) years of outside experience performing advanced level design work.
