Performs the set-up, operation, and maintenance of a wide range of sound reinforcement systems, audio routing and distribution systems, video distribution systems, Audio Visual (AV) control systems and paging/notification systems.
Administers and supports LVCVA IP audio/visual systems and equipment.
Operates AV equipment in a live production environment during conventions, shows, public meetings, and internal and external special events, i.e., lecterns, handheld and lavaliere microphones, LCD projectors, loudspeakers, wireless microphones, stands, audio mixer, amplifiers, digital recorders, telephone hybrid interfaces, related cabling, etc.
Develops strong business relationships with Convention Service Managers and customers. Shows initiative and provides suggestions when necessary.
Professionally interacts and assists all customers and ambassadors while providing excellent customer service.
Supports the goals and policies of the LVCVA and serves as a positive representative of the organization.
Pulls, installs, terminates, labels and troubleshoots a variety of low voltage cables such as Category Ethernet, coaxial, loudspeaker and multi-conductor cables in accordance with industry standards.
Reads and interprets technical documents, cut sheets and wiring diagrams related to communication systems.
Proficiently uses LVCVA event order systems and communicates effectively via email and cloud-based software to other ambassadors.
Ensures changes and new orders are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
Performs basic troubleshooting of 2-way radio equipment, assists in maintaining accurate inventory, and recommends repair or replacement when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED.
Training required to classify at the journeyman level and three years of recent experience
Knowledge of digital technologies including Dante with general understanding of IP-based audio and video transmission systems;
General knowledge of audio standards including balancing and unbalancing microphones and line signals
General knowledge of video standards including but not limited to RF broadband, composite, component, HDMI, DVI, SDI and Display Port connections
Working knowledge and use of the following AV networking systems and products: Crestron CP3/4 Control System, Crestron TSW 1060/1070 touch panels, Crestron XiO Cloud, Crestron Tool Box, Crestron X-Panel, Crestron Flex Video Conferencing, Q-SYS AV Control Platform/Products, (Q-SYS Designer software, Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager software and AtteroTech network audio interfaces), Dante Domain Manager, Dante Controller and a variety of Dante enabled products.
Familiarity with Crestron and QSC system programming highly desirable
Familiarity with Motorola MOTOTRBO two-way digital radio systems/radios and the following associated systems: MOTOTRBO Customer Programming Software (CPS), AVTEC Scout Voice Dispatch Console System and Motorola WAVE OnCloud solution.
Ability to use basic hand tools, soldering, and test equipment used in the maintenance of AV systems
Understanding of basic electronic principals with the ability to read wiring diagrams and perform and direct maintenance activities on various analog and digital AV systems
Familiar with use of AV test equipment including, but not limited to, VOM multi-meters, SPL measurement devices, cable tracers and cable testers
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or ambassadors
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Basic operation of computer presentation software utilizing Apple and Microsoft platforms
Experience with standard office software such as TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to work independently and is self-motivated
Ability to work quickly and with accuracy under strict deadlines
Ability to prioritize, be proactive, handle multiple responsibilities and work under pressure
Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency and adapting when necessary
