Description : Reviews ledgers, journals, reports, agreements, and related financial records; makes corrections and adjustments; ensures compliance under GAAP and GASB guidelines;
Responsible for providing complex analytical and accounting recommendations; oversees and conducts in-depth accounting research and reconciliation across multiple funds and funding sources.
Monitors, tracks, and balances various accounts, including verifying availability of funds, eligibility of expenditures, and identifying allowable and unallowable costs.
Reviews and reconciles payroll reports with general ledger reports for various grants and projects; researches and analyzes transactions to identify root cause of variances and resolve discrepancies.
Oversees the financial health of a variety of accounts and general ledgers; and prepares monthly/quarterly/annually financial reports relating to assigned account areas.
Assists and acts as a liaison to internal and external auditors in support of the audits and site visits; and prepares response to audit findings and resolutions.
Assists with the development, analysis, and implementation of the departments budget; provides research on the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure departments financial compliance; provides technical supervision and cross training within the division; identifies gaps for process improvement and updates procedures.
Requirements : A Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field;
Three years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience;
Valid Texas drivers license
