Championing the Library's strategic goals and initiatives with the system's mission, vision, and core values in mind.
Facilitating access to digital archives collections through creation of new collections, descriptive metadata, digitization, storage, preservation, and organization.
Providing reference services for requests (received in-person, by mail, email, or telephone) utilizing specialized local history, archival, and genealogical materials in a wide variety of formats (including automated genealogical databases, digital content management system, and archives management system) and assisting customers in the use of facilities and services.
Assisting with, designing, and presenting programs/workshops for youth and adults on local history and genealogical topics, to be delivered to target audiences on-site, and at other Library and community facilities.
Maintaining and developing assigned areas of the Library collection to support the goals and initiatives of the library system, and to meet the needs of the local community.
Participating in the promotion of library services and resources, giving unit tours to groups, and assisting in the preparation of informational handouts for public distribution including calendars and flyers.
Providing customers with self-service and other technology assistance.
Contributing to the growth and development of community relationships; participating in community activities by providing information, answering questions and discussing community needs for services.
Serving as the Person in Charge, when needed.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Master's Degree of Library Science from an accredited college or university.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, and to work at/travel to various locations during a shift to present programs or perform other duties.
Competency with the digital environment, particularly digital asset management software.
At least one year of experience working with digital collections in an archival repository.
At least one year of experience working in a library setting.
