Establish an effective and sustainable digital preservation program, including the management of the Institutional Repository of California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI), and serve as the campus administrator of the digital asset management systems used by the library.
Advise and assist the campus with the preservation of student and faculty research, scholarship and creative activities.
Use the Library’ systems to ensure best practices in the creation of digital content, and make resources discoverable.
Assess campus digital scholarship needs, and identify opportunities to support faculty and student digital scholarship creation, for inclusion in the Library’s systems, including access, and preservation, applying advanced knowledge of digital archival standards.
Create policies, procedures, and identify workflows needed to establish, implement, and coordinate digital preservation systems used by the CSUCI Library.
Recommend and advise on the processing and description activities for digital materials used across the library units and programs, and develop best practices and training in metadata for digital scholarship.
Working knowledge of copyright as pertains to acquisition, preservation and sharing of digital content.
Works directly with departments as a liaison in the development of the collections, Information Literacy classes, and creation and maintenance of research guides in assigned subject areas.
Engage in professional and scholarly activities and service to the University (e.g. university-wide committees, etc.), the Library, and the profession.
Enhance and develop opportunities to collaborate on digital collections with regional partners;
Promote and support student and faculty research using digital collections, including hands-on research using the Mobile Archives Collaboratory, an archival digitization classroom.
Provide public service, including reference shifts, research consultations, and outreach to the campus community per assigned areas.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community to build creative, diverse, and inclusive library collections and services and meet university goals and priorities.
Pursue scholarship as expected of a tenure-track position.
Requirements :
Master's degree in library/information/archival science accredited by the American Library Association.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-time professional librarian or museum archivist position required.
