Manages accounting, reporting and analysis for all taxes and special assessments collected by the Finance Department. If selected as Senior Accountant, supervises one Analyst responsible for specials assessments administration. Assists with special assessments inquiries and duties as needed. Performs analysis and reconciliation of clearing accounts used in Gentax and PeopleSoft to record tax and assessment collections. Serves as the functional expert relative to revenue accounting in Gentax, including testing software updates and training new users. Prepares annual audit client schedules, reporting footnotes and tables related to tax and special assessment collections. Responds to audit questions received from the City's external auditor. Completes other reporting duties as assigned. 
 

• Senior Accountant REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 5 years professional experience in governmental or business accounting, including 2 years of intermediate professional accounting at the level of the City's Accountant II; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
• Accountant II REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 2 years of experience in entry-level, professional accounting work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
• Accountant REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
