Under the direction of the Supervising Social Worker and Chief of Social Work, the Clinical Social Worker (CSW) provides case management, crisis intervention, individual and group treatment for patients committed to the Department of State Hospitals. CSW evaluate patients upon admission, through their hospital stay and through the discharge process. The CSW functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team, serves as a liaison for outside entities such as the courts, public guardian office, probation officers, County mental health, community treatment placements and programs, and social supports. Candidates must be highly motivated, dependable, demonstrate good writing and organizational skills, and can maintain positive working relationships with all levels of staff.
Applicants must possess completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work program from an accredited school of social work and must be registered with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as either ACSW or LCSW.
