As a Junior DevOps Platform Engineer you will have a varied role building and maintaining the platform infrastructure that underpins our research software development projects. With over 100 staff actively writing code across the organisation, you will also be there to support staff to use the latest DevOps best practices in a wide range of geoscientific research projects.

• An understanding of Linux
• Comfortable with scripting e.g. bash and python
• Experience with Git version control software
• An awareness of DevOps practices and technologies such as containerisation (e.g. Docker) and Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines (e.g. Gitlab-CI, Travis or Github Actions)
• Curious with a drive for self-improvement and learning
• Able to communicate effectively (both written and orally)
• Ability to work equally well in multi-disciplinary teams or independently
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent proven competency in software
