• We are looking for a candidate who can deliver safe environments for residents by ensuring internal and external communal areas are clean, safe and desirable places to live.
• As well as being responsible for the cleaning of your own blocks you will also assist NHG in monitoring services delivered by contractors to ensure that they are to an equally high standard.
• You will support the housing teams to achieve their targets through inspecting and monitoring other cleaning, grounds and maintenance works undertaken by contractors.
• You will be checking communal areas for safety, installing signs and serving Notices on goods left in communal hallways which pose a fire risk.
• To help minimise risks to our residents, you will also undertake minor works in communal areas including minor decorating, fitting replacement bulbs, re-fixing stair nosing, re-fixing or installing notices, re-fixing vinyl or entrance mats, maintenance of bin stores areas.
• Part of your job duties will be to report any general repairs needed in communal areas on our Housing Management platform.
• This role requires a DBS check. Therefore a basic check will be requested in the event of you being offered the position as part of our pre-employment checking process.

People are at the heart of this job. You'll need to be a good communicator as you will work with a wide range of people including Housing Officers, Residents, Contractors and the local police. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping others and making sure they love where they live. You'll also demonstrate the attention to detail to follow our procedures and ensure you deal with any issues in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will ideally have worked in a facilities or estate management environment but this is not essential. You will have the ability to undertake manual handling activities and the knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation to ensure that all our customers live in a safe and happy environment, you'll also have the drive and attention to detail to get the job done well first time round … every time.

This is a demanding role and requires someone that has a friendly approachable manner and a "can do" attitude. You must have the ability to build good relations with residents and contractors to ensure highest standards are achieved quickly and with minimum fuss.
