The ideal candidate will be an IAAS Level 2 accredited senior caseworker and/or solicitor, with at least four years’ experience of advice on asylum, protection and related human-rights claims. You will have experience in publicly funded immigration work under a Legal Aid Agency Contract and will either hold IAAS supervising senior caseworker accreditation or have the skills, knowledge and experience to qualify as a supervisor within 3 months of joining Asylum Aid. Experience of running judicial review cases and working with victims of trafficking is highly desirable, although not essential as the successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop related experience as part of their role and with the support of Asylum Aid colleagues. There will be scope within the role to contribute strategically to work relating to the treatment of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers both in terms of access to and quality of available legal representation, and Home Office decision making.
