The Natural History Museum is developing a new visual identity, and we are looking for an experienced and talented Senior UI designer to join the Digital UX & Design team for nine months to help drive this process forward. The new visual identity will build on our newly developed brand strategy which seeks to address the challenges of the planetary crisis and focuses the Museum's attitude in response.
Using new brand guidelines and example assets as a foundation, the UI designer will explore different routes to set the visual direction of digital at the Museum. They will be developing and testing design options to find an approach that works effectively across our broad range of digital products and services, including public facing websites, mobile apps and scientific tools.
Once the look and feel has been agreed, the designer's focus will shift to working with the digital product teams to successfully roll out the identity. The designer will document the different components and styles that make up the interfaces by creating a digital pattern library and style guide in Figma.
The designer will work closely with UX and UI designers in the digital team to support them in using the new identity, as well as collaborating with print designers and digital media producers to ensure a consistent approach to design across the organisation.
